The 10th International Symposium «Modern Problems of Laser Physics» (MPLP-2026)

From August 23 to 31, 2026, Novosibirsk State University hosted The 10th International Symposium «Modern Problems of Laser Physics» (MPLP-2026). The event brought together leading researchers and developers working in quantum sensors, precision spectroscopy, and ultracold atom physics, and also featured the LaserPhys school for young scientists.

Special Systems. Photonics took an active part in MPLP-2026. The General Sponsor of the symposium was CAS Cold Atom. As the official distributor of CAS Cold Atom, we conducted technical consultations together with the manufacturer's specialists.

The CAS Cold Atom zone featured mockups of a quantum gravimeter and a quantum computer. The quantum computer is based on neutral-atom technology, and the absolute quantum gravimeter uses laser-controlled interference of freely falling atoms.


 

At our demo zone, attendees explored capabilities of partner solutions:

  • High-finesse resonators, vacuum cells, and magneto-optical traps (CAS Cold Atom);
  • Single-photon sources and detectors (RMY Electronics, Rofea Optoelectronics);
  • Specialized electronics for quantum research (CAS Cold Atom);
  • Ultra-stable lasers and optical frequency combs: SPL-OFC optical frequency comb, SPL-USL ultra-stable lasers, and SPL-SWP mode-hop-free scanning lasers (FEX-LASER);
  • Spatial light modulators (SLM) based on LCOS and DMD, acousto-optic and electro-optic modulators (UPOLabs);
  • Laser diodes, pump diodes, and their drivers (LD-PD);
  • Passive fiber-optic components, including high-power and specialty fibers (DK Photonics, OPEAK);
  • Laser optics, crystals, waveguides, OEM solutions, and turnkey laboratory setups (LD-PD, LBTEK);
  • Fluorescence, photoluminescence, and Raman spectral systems, as well as terahertz spectrometers (EV);
  • 3D optical profilometers with 0.001 nm vertical-axis resolution.


An important part of the scientific program was our specialist's overview report "Enabling technologies for precision quantum measurements: from narrow-linewidth lasers to turnkey optical systems." The presentation addressed practical aspects of building precision quantum and optical setups and sparked a productive discussion with the audience.

 

During the symposium, our engineers held numerous meetings with leading research groups. This engagement allowed us to strengthen relationships with key partners and gather direct feedback on emerging market needs.
